How the estimate works
League grants account XP for every minute you play, so an account's level is effectively a clock: roughly nine hours of game time per level, a ratio that holds remarkably steadily across accounts. We multiply it out and show the result as days and hours. Queue types and XP boosts nudge individual accounts up or down, but as a comparison between players it's reliable — and it updates automatically as accounts keep levelling.
Frequently asked questions
Is this exact?
No — it's an estimate. An exact figure would require summing the duration of every match ever played, which Riot's API only exposes a few years back. Level-based estimates are what every time-played tracker uses, and they're accurate enough to rank players correctly.
Who has wasted the most time on League?
Our time-played leaderboard tracks the answer live, per region and worldwide — the current record holder is past two thousand full days in game.
