lols.gg started years ago as a summoner-name availability checker, back when inactive League of Legends names expired and could be claimed. When Riot replaced summoner names with Riot IDs in 2023, we rebuilt around the thing that doesn't change: the PUUID, every account's permanent identifier.
Today lols.gg is three tools sharing one dataset: a name checker that shows whether an exact Riot ID exists and when its owner last played, a permanent tracker that records every name we have ever seen an account use, and level leaderboards that follow the game's most-played accounts through renames and region transfers. The name-history archive spans years and more than a hundred thousand accounts — records that can't be reconstructed from the Riot API, because Riot only ever returns an account's current name.
The site is free, available in 27 languages, and supported by ads. lols.gg isn't endorsed by Riot Games and doesn't reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing League of Legends.
