How TFT ranks work

Full guide: how TFT ranked works

Teamfight Tactics uses the same tier ladder as League — Iron through Challenger — but you climb by finishing in the top four, not by winning outright. Finishing 1st through 4th gains LP, 5th through 8th loses it, so a steady stream of 3rds and 4ths climbs just as surely as the occasional 1st.

What counts as a "win" in TFT?

Riot's API records only 1st place as a win, which is why the win rate shown here is a first-place rate. Most ranked players sit somewhere between 10% and 15% — your top-four rate is the number that actually tracks whether you're climbing.

Are Double Up and Hyper Roll ranked separately?

Yes. Double Up (the two-team co-op mode) has its own ladder, and Hyper Roll uses a separate rating from Grey up to Hyper — shown here as a rating rather than LP, because it has no divisions.

Is my TFT rank linked to my League rank?

No. They share an account, a level and a Riot ID, but the ladders are entirely separate — you can be Challenger in one and unranked in the other.
